New sustainable rail connection:
From Kehl to Hamburg and Bremerhaven

Sustainable logistics

New direct train from Kehl
to the German seaports

We are pleased to announce the introduction of new direct rail connections that will link the Euroterminal Kehl with the major German seaports of Hamburg and Bremerhaven. As a leading trimodal logistics service provider, we efficiently combine the advantages of water, rail and road. Yannick Farhand, Managing Director of the Euro Terminal in Kehl, explains the benefits of this expansion for both our customers and the environment.

Expansion of our services

From May, the Euroterminal Kehl will be directly connected to the port centres in Hamburg and Bremerhaven, eliminating the need for detours via Mannheim. This will enable more efficient and environmentally friendly freight transport. The new connections include two weekly train runs to each of the two port centres and offer the capacity to transport up to 400 TEU per week. This expansion ensures greater flexibility and reliability in logistics for our customers.

Reduction of CO2 emissions

With the new rail connections and the use of electric lorries, we are actively supporting the reduction of our carbon footprint, which is in line with our Mission Zero Emission. By reducing lorry journeys, especially over long distances, and improving rail infrastructure, we are making a significant contribution to environmental protection and promoting a more sustainable logistics industry. These measures enable our customers to significantly improve their own carbon footprints, especially with regard to Scope 3 emissions.
